Sino Estates Management wins thirteen Eco-Business Awards

Twelve Sino properties won thirteen awards in recognition for building design, energy conservation, air treatment, waste recycling and more at this year's Hong Kong Eco-Business Awards.

Skyline Tower and Hong Kong Pacific Centre proudly won Gold Awards for Green Property Management Award (Commercial & Industrial Buildings category); four Certificates of Merit, three Gold Wastewi$e logos and four Wastewi$e logos were also awarded to ten other Sino properties.

Jointly organized by Environmental Campaign Committee, The Chinese General Chamber of Commerce, Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce, Hong Kong Productivity Council and Environmental Department, the Hong Kong Eco-Business Award recognizes business organizations that are committed to environmental management and promote environmental awareness and green practices.

Skyline Tower, one of the Gold Award winners in Green Property Management Award (Commercial & Industrial Buildings category),is designed with reflective curtain walls and a 10,000 square feet roof-top garden, which help reduce the temperature of the building. The introduction of a BMS air-conditioning system in 2006 saved 9.5% in electricity costs.

Another Gold Award winner, Hong Kong Pacific Centre, provides tailored green services to thirty-six clinical tenants to centralize medical waste collection in compliance with approved safety standards. Introduction of an E-Notices initiative in the building enhanced communications and significantly reduced paper usage.

Mr. Sunny Yeung, Director & General Manager of Sino Estates Management Limited said "As one of Hong Kong's major property developers, Sino Group has taken the lead in promoting, maintaining and managing a green environment within the community. A "Green Committee", comprised of top management people, has been formed to establish environmental policy, formulate and review green programmes for our sites on a monthly basis. We also continuously identify and introduce new technologies to enhance energy efficiency. Over 60 properties managed by us have been granted with the "Energy Efficiency Registration Scheme" certificates by the Electrical and Mechanical Services Department. In 2007, the Group was also recognized by the ISO14001 accreditation for environmental management."
